Dr. Daniel Rahn
President, Medical College of Georgia
Dr. Daniel W. Rahn, nationally recognized researcher, clinician and seasoned administrator, became the seventh president of the Medical College of Georgia June 2001. As of July 2006, Dr. Rahn also serves in the newly created position of senior vice chancellor for health and medical programs for the University System of Georgia.
Prior to his appointment as MCG president, Dr. Rahn served as vice dean for clinical affairs for the Medical College of Georgia School of Medicine as well as senior vice president for medical affairs and chief medical officer for MCG Health, Inc.
Dr. Rahn came to MCG from Yale University School of Medicine in 1991. He served as Vice Chairman and Director of Clinical affairs for the Department of Medicine and as Program Director for the internal medicine residency program.
Dr. Rahn earned a bachelor of arts degree in 1972 and a medical degree in 1976, both from Yale University. He completed his medical residency at Yale-New Haven Hospital and his postdoctoral fellowship in rheumatology at Yale.
