Wayne Hodges

Vice Provost, Enterprise Innovation Institute and Georgia Institute of Technology

Wayne Hodges is Vice Provost in the Georgia Tech Enterprise Innovation Institute. In that position, he is responsible for a comprehensive set of Georgia Tech services that help industry, entrepreneurs, communities and economic developers become more competitive through the application of science, technology and innovation.

The Enterprise Innovation Institute was formed in 2006 to bring Georgia Tech’s economic development and business assistance programs together with its expanding initiatives in technology commercialization.

As a member of the team that organized the Advanced Technology Development Center in 1980, Hodges has been actively involved in the management and growth of what has become an internationally recognized technology incubator that helps entrepreneurs launch and build successful companies.

He also serves as liaison to economic development organizations and agencies in Georgia, and has been actively involved in the formation of such organizations as the Georgia Research Alliance (GRA). He has also served as president of the Georgia Economic Developers Association (GEDA), and is on the board of directors for a variety of technology-based organizations, including the Business and Technology Alliance.

A native of London, Kentucky, Hodges received a B.A. degree in economics and political science from Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky.
